Event Information: Three times nominated in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and double winners of the Spiral Earth Awards, Megson draw heavily on their Teesside heritage to create a truly unique brand of folk music. The husband & wife duo create an infectious mix of heavenly vocals, lush harmonies and driving rhythmic guitars. Comprising Debs Hanna (Vocals, Whistle, Piano Accordion) and Stu Hanna (Guitar, Mandola, Banjo) Megson have gained fame on the British folk scene, not only for their arresting and intelligent songwriting, but for their exquisite musicianship and northern humour. Event Information: Upper Dales Family History Group talk.
Jennifer Deadman - Farm Buildings of the Heart of Teesdale. Jennifer Deadman is a historic building surveyor and will be talking about several of the farmsteads which she recorded with a volunteer historic buildings survey group, training them not only to record the fabric of the buildings but also, through documentary research, to place them in their landscape setting and in their local historic context.
Meeting starts at 2pm. The Upper Dales Group is a branch of the Cleveland Family History Society; entry is free for members and non-members are very welcome at £2 each.
